PS3 Firmware update

OK so theres a lot of ppl complainin bout firmware 3.01 messing up their ps3 by not being able to read the BD Discs..So I was wondering if any of u ps3 owners have had this problem with ur ps3

nope 3.1 firmware wasnt mandatory so i didnt update
