wtf...virtual memory?!

ok so i got my new comp...finally lol...and i played halo 1 on it...when it starts it says i have low virtual mem......wtf! my comp has 6 gb of ram...ati radeon grfx card (forgot which one) with 512mb discrete memory...so i read that u can change this setting...it is recommended to change settings to 1.5x your current ram...so i set my initial ram and max ram=9000...so the message stopped popping out on halo but it contnues to pop out on fabe:TLC....do i need to do something else here or..?

You could also go to google, I found out somewhere that you could increase the virtual memory on settings, forgot how though.
