That doesn't add up, Shadow pays for the Vb license and additional costs shouldn't be towards the shoutbox???

Did you remove it because you felt like it or did Shadow tell you to remove it?

Look Im pretty sure I found the problem. I know some of yall had reported that you have been getting PM's by bots for advertisement and such. Well what I think the bots are/have been mailing EVERY member on the site. I dont think I have to explain that is an assload of bandwith and data being used. I've contacted Shadow to see what he can do. Please just keep everything cool we are working on it.

Hello,

I apologize, but I was forced to suspend the script "/home/xxxxx/public_html/zzzzzz.php" as it was causing a high load on the server, and due to the nature of the problem, I forced to take immediate action for the health of the server. If you reply back to this with your IP address (removed) we will be more than happy to go ahead enable HTTP access for you, so that you can safely work on the script without it causing further issues. Please let us know how you would like to proceed.

After several emails like this from several different hosts, and having tried every single free or paid shoutbox mod/script out there over the course of 3 years, I have run out of options. I've already spent over $2,000 on this site since it's inception and I'm not going to upgrade the server again to increase my bills every month. Times are tuff, maybe in the future ill upgrade to a $150 a month plan so we can have the shoutbox back, but right now there's just no way I can justify the cost.

For now you're just gonna have to use the chat in the war room. Whether or not I place the link to where the public can use it, Ill leave that up to you guys since you use the site more then I do. Let me know.

As for the lag, I'm waiting to hear back from the host to see what's causing it.

Donating some money right now might keep the shoutbox up for a month but it won't keep it going in the long run. It has to be a consistent stream of money every month to pay for the server fees or we'll just be back right where we are right now in a month or so.
