Half-Genie Hero, the Kickstarter hopeful fourth entry in the Shantae series, has added Vita as platform.
It's not a stretch goal. As long as the game makes its base goal of $400,000, it will release on Vita, as well as the recently announced Vita TV.
With 23 days to go, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is more than halfway to its goal at just over $228,000.
Our Take
Shantae is a quality series that always seems to release on the wrong platforms. The first game released on the Game Boy Color shortly after the Game Boy Advance released. The second game released on the DSi's eShop – Nintendo's stop-gap handheld between the DS and the 3DS. The third Shantae game is coming to 3DS this year. That one should be okay. For the fourth Shantae, developer WayForward seems to be throwing up its hands to say, "We're just going to release it on everything!" I'm hopeful that this plan of attack will be a beneficial one.
