GameStop taking pre-orders for NGP, laughter ensues
Those ready for a hearty laugh today, should head on over to GameStop and take a gander at the pre-order page for PSP2.
The pre-order can be yours for no less than $999.
It’s okay. You can laugh. We did.
Sony announced NGP, otherwise known as PSP2 in Japan today, and has yet to set a price on the handheld. However, Sony has said it won’t be $599 and that it will be affordable.
Apparently, GameStop didn’t get the memo. Granted, the pre-order page states that the actual price is to be determined, but still, $999? Didn’t it do something similar with PS3? Come on, GameStop.

Court grants Sony a temporary restraining order against GeoHot
The Northern California courts have granted Sony a temporary restraining order against GeoHot.
The restraining order forbids George Hotz from handing out or linking to the jailbreak which exposes the back door to PS3. He is also not allowed to “helping or encourage,” others to jailbreak, or hack into any other Sony system. He is not allowed to post any information he found while hacking.
This order applies to fail0verflow as well, and each party has been orders to hand over their computers and storage devices to Sony’s lawyers if the equipment was used to create the jailbreak.
No judgment has been handed down yet. However, the restraining order was granted due to the court agreeing that the jailbreak could cause Sony more harm while the actual court case against the hackers is ongoing.
However, as Engadget notes, those outside of fail0verflow and GeoHot with the hacks in hand, will probably still hand it out to others. It already all over the internet.
The Engadget link has the actual court files attached if you would like to give them a read.
