Im in desperate need of help!!

So last night, my NAT was on Moderate. I did the Xbox Live connection test and it always said something about my NAT has to be Open. I decided to turn the router off and on like 3x then gave up, went to sleep.

Today, I tried again and I still failed, so I asked a friend what I should do and so he told me to go on my router configuration. I have a Verizon Fios router, Actiontec MI424-WR. I’m using wired network, not wireless.

He told me to change like the DMZ Host to something but he didn’t inform me I should write down everything before changing them -__- then when I tried doing the test, it kept saying Test Failed, like the connection from the Xbox 360 to the Network kept failing and the error message says, “Can’t obtain an IP address from your router or modem. Your router or modem may not be automatically assigning an IP address. On your PC, go to your configuration webpage…” And I did what it said and still didn’t work, so I just went on Additional Settings and clicked Restore to Factory Defaults and it has like a new IP address and shit. OMFG idk what to do now. Seriously, I am soooo fucking lost.

I just wanna be able to go on Xbox Live again! :|

Just go to connection settings on your xbox and then just reset up your connection.

i had this prob on my ps3.
i think i just changed my ip address, and rebooted my ps3.
but i dont remember... Google it
you can change a few settings by going to ur routers page... which, for me is http://192.168.10.254/
might be something similar for you.
Oh and also, a quick way to change your IP, seeing as you're using a wired network, take the cable out from the router, and put it in another er... port? slot?
so, if its in slot 1, put it in slot 2

I have my settings at automatic...... don't know if that applies but it just looks for the data by itself to make my life easier

Yeah, no. Pervs.
He's just a close friend of mine, he has his own thing going on and I have my own thing going on. That's it.

Anyways, I don't know what you mean by resetting my connection. If you mean restoring default setting on both the router and the Xbox, I've only tried doing the factory reset on the Xbox Live connection but I didn't restore the default settings on my router.
