FTB3 Strategies
There are many strategies to be explored today for each map. I will commence with the strategies I have come up with for our fellow DM members for important clan wars. I also expect that we practice these strategies in scrimmages, as practice makes perfect
NOTE: The Suited For part is a little add-on that I checked off based on my observations of your gaming styles.
NOTE:To skip the strategies, scroll down until you reach Terminal Atrocity, and youll find out the other topics being talked about.
Map Strategies:
CROSSFIRE COVE: Crossfire Cove has been recently endorsed our official war map for ftb3. But as of now, we have absolutely no strategies. And that Is going to change.
Strategy #1: If you respawn at the waterfall side, always take advantage of the waterfall to guide you. I recommend that you don’t crouch down with the sniper, because you only make yourself more vulnerable. I would say that a proper sniper such as the AS-50 or the C-Tac be used for the suppressor so you can be stealthy. Stand up, being half concealed by the wall with the logs, so u can have a proper shot and not die at the same time. If your location is discovered, then quickly move over to the small cabin to your right. Suited for: Duke, Shoot, Nathan
Strategy #2: If you respawn at the side where the helipad is, I would suggest that u quickly rush to the bottom level of the building to your right. Stay behind that wall near the opening, and get a free kill on an unsuspecting enemy. After you kill one, wait a few more seconds, and then advance. This will maintain your stealth and make you less vulnerable. Later, simply circle around the map, killing off more people. Make sure to place C4 on the enemies you kill! Suited for: Michael, Me, Batman
CRIMSON BASIN: Crimson may be the biggest map in the game, and is suited for grand battles, but this can also cause a quick death, so don’t ever rush in this map, ever.
Strategy #1: Travel in groups of 3. Based on the size of this map, it is more likely that the enemy would separate to cover more ground. This weakness can be used against them by killing off each of the opposition one by one. This will ensue in a drastic decrease of people, and the round is won. Make sure that if there is no boom and no shotgun, that you carry the f2k or the famas. Otherwise, take your weapon of choice with u. This strategy will be more effective in a no respawn game. If there is no respawn, then u can endanger yourself by going alone, and while you kill an enemy traveling in groups, you give your team an advantage by 1 or 2 kills ahead. Suited for: Brawler, Tyler, and Shoot
Strategy #2: You can choose to camp at the bridge. Do not go towards the waterfall, because most of the time, there WILL be a person there, waiting. Instead, if c4/claymores are on, rush to the bridge and place a c4 near the opposite side. Do NOT go all the way across the bridge, or a spawning enemy will catch u by surprise. The point is to maintain your stealth, so don’t attempt to throw any grenades if boom is on. If u had a grenade launcher then it is safe to launch a clip. Suited for: Me, Mentalist, Acid
Strategy #3: A final good strategy is to obscenely go through the middle. Avoid the “cliff” on the enemy’s side, as a person will most likely kill u. After u get to the other side, sneak to their base and to the door that can be destroyed using c4. Destroy it, then run out of the way from where u came in from. Since this explosion can be heard all across the map, the enemy will turn to these doors. U can sneak behind anyone heading there and kill them. Once you kill one person, plant the c4, and camp in the base. This can ensure at least 4 kills per round. Suited for: Tor, Newfound, Duke
MARKET WEEK: One of the best maps in the game, Market Week is a pattern map, in which it is round, and interaction between teams can take up to 2 minutes for interaction between teams
Strategy #1: When you spawn, if you are at the base of the stairs, plant a c4 on the bottom
stair, AND plant claymores further up the stairs. This will ensue in at least 1 kill if someone decides to go down the steps. If 1 minute passes, and no one comes, then get out of there and reunite with your team. Make sure that while you’re waiting, you turn around in order to avoid a death by a smart enemy. If boom isn’t on, then simply go through the slanted hill at the spawn area and head to the area that is closed off to your left, where the top of the stairs appear. If no one is there, then go all the way around to the opposite of your teammate’s position, and hope for a camper. Suited for: Me, Brawler, DeathSeiko
Strategy #2: When you spawn, if you are at the very large building with the light green walls, then go directly to the stairs. Kill an enemy if someone comes, and then head towards the corner to your Northeast of the start of the stairs. When you get there, press triangle to stand up, and from there you can see if someone is camping behind the wall. An F90 with reflex sight is recommended for this strategy, as it will effectively help you take out any campers you may see within range. You can also check if a camper is on that edge above the enemy’s spawn location. After you check, go to the enemies’ base,( DO NOT TAKE THE STAIRS) and you may or may not find an enemy. Doesn’t matter, because at this point you may have 1-3 enemies left. Suited for:g-ace-k(cautious),EL_Diablos,CrazySerious
Strategy #3: A final strategy for this (if you respawn at the bottom of the stairs) is to instantly rush for the big crate that lies in front of the entranceway where the enemy will most likely come from. If you rush there fast and easily, then you can catch some enemies’ off-guard and kill some. I recommend that you pack the Desert Eagle for this strategy, as it can help you out in scenarios were there is more than 2 people in your way. Suited for all desert eagle users
RAMPART RUMBLE: A very fun map, Rampart Rumble is an extremely fair map that provides an equal amount of advantages to both teams, and can also be very challenging
Strategy #1: When you respawn, if you respawn on the side that the stream doesn’t run through, then head to your left and wait in that underpass for at least 40 seconds in order to avoid some enemies that may find you. If a teammate passes by, then what u can do is stay put, because chances are that your teammate will die. After the wait, head to the stairs leading up to the second floor. Check for any annoying pests, and advance. If someone behind u that is a teammate dies, DO NOT revive him. Chances are that a noob will be camping along his corpse, and kill you in the process. Instead, breach and clear instead of run and gun. You want to maintain as much stealth as possible. Suited for: Brutal.Tor, Michael
Strategy #2: If you aren’t that pro of a player, then you will loathe this strategy. First, the game must have boom on, or this wont work = (. Pack the RPG-7 into your arsenal, and grind up your boots, because its time to kick some ass!! When you start the first round, make sure to keep your secondary packed to reach to your left side faster. It is required that you go to your left instead of your right in order for this strategy to be effective. Also, pack a smoke grenade for any back up. DO not go directly to the left, go a little bit off till u have a clear view of the stairs going up in the balcony. Then, after a reasonable time (12 seconds), shoot a rocket into the ceiling of the balcony. Most of the time this will guarantee a multikill of 3 and up if you perfect your timing. This can be very effective, especially when people revive. That means that after u kill a person, press select to see the body, and the second u see his name turn white, fire at will. If u miss, do not fire again, u will need the last rocket for future encounters within the round. Also, u may improvise by going into the enemy head-on and killing yourself among with a lot more enemies! Suited for all beginners
Strategy #3: If you’re the type that loves the sniper, then enjoy this strategy. When you respawn, similarly to the previous strategy, you must not reach the underpass/rock slab, but instead maintain a far enough sniper position so that u can’t be locked on. Zoom in with your gun, and fire at will at the people who appear on the balcony. A recommendation is that you camp until u get a reasonable amount of kills, at least 3. When you feel secure and believe the enemies have moved on, go forth and kill away! Suited for: Duke, Shoot, Nathan
PERMAFROST: One snowy map, Permafrost can bring the chill in your deaths, and only your mistakes can you master your kills in this map
Strategy #1: When you spawn, make sure you pack a thermal scope in this map with your assault rifle, as it may be helpful to detecting out some pesky campers. When you spawn downhill, head up the right trail where the house and snowmobile happen to be. Go near the right edge of the house, and make sure you have a clear view of the cabin in front along with your trusty thermal. Make sure you limit your weapon to 1-hit shots so you don’t zoom out after a shooting session. Fire at will if any enemies appear, and make sure you get them. If you don’t, then retreat as fast as you can and go all the way around. If you stay, the enemy will probably be smart enough to turn around and zoom in on you and kill you. From there, kill some of the people probably scattered along the map, just make sure that you don’t stay in the same spot after a kill. Suited for: Nathan, Acid, Wicked
Strategy #2: If you spawn uphill, then you are in for a surprise in this strategy. Yes it involves camping =P. Grab a powerful sniper, and with 2 teammates, head to the big cabin hotel on the right. After you are in, it will be useful to plant some claymores, scattering them around the main entrance so anyone entering will not have a chance. Go out through the other door, and go up to the high overlook and check for some enemies. Head back, and keep repeating this until you manage to survive long enough, and get a few kills in the process. Suited for: Duke, Michael, Newfound
IRON COFFIN: Resembling Gridlock from Gears of War, Iron Coffin takes a lot of strategy, and many different choices can be expected from this map.
Strategy #1: For this map, it is very important that you maintain a one-shot weapon, such as a shotgun for a primary, or a desert eagle for a secondary. Most of these battles are constricted in a tight area, and it is very easy to die as well as kill someone. When you respawn, head to the bottom level. Rush to the side where the enemy comes in, and if you do this fast enough, a tactical advantage is made for you. Equip the desert eagle for this strategy, as it will involve close range combat, and the eagle has more accuracy, where the shotgun will straight up get 2 shots for a kill if u aren’t close enough. If more than 3 people come rushing at you, kill at least one, and retreat to the open door areas. Instantly open the door, to simulate your running away. As everyone passes, at least 2 people may stay. Kill both of them if you can and rush up from where the enemy came. Do not bother planting any c4 because by now the enemy team may have been alerted and would’ve come back. Instead, place the c4 somewhere were u go upstairs in order to kill 2 more. Reunite with your team, and rush into the enemy team, finishing them off.
Strategy #2: Head downstairs again and quickly place a c4 in the doorway at the bottom level. Wait till Someone comes, and kill them if they rush upstairs. Quickly go back to the “3rd Floor”(area with the window-like spaces), and camp behind one of the ledges. If u can place some claymores to delay the enemy. Come back at the enemy with a shotgun, and kill off some remaining scrubs. Then run away once more. Hope that your team would’ve killed off some of the other people by now, and that you gave them a big enough advantage. Beware of revivers! Suitable for: Tor, Brutal, Me, Michael, Batman, Newfound
Strategy #3: This time, pack an f90, and a shotgun. Go up to the 3rd floor on your left, and simply wait behind the wall. Crouch down so some other people can’t shoot u from the opposite side. Make sure you have at least one teammate guarding your back. If there aren’t any enemies, advance down to the bottom floor. You may find at least 2 people camping, so finish them off rapidly without giving them a chance. Do not follow them! Plant some c4, and head for cover, but before that, plant some claymores in the open door button area, and head to the opposite. If you see a person reviving the killed enemy, use the c4. The claymores should be scattered for backup. If someone camps at the other push button area, use your claymore. Then, push the button and rush towards your base, and you may have done enough. If its in the position of a clutch battle, then you should not give up, and instead camp at the enemy base. Do not try to revive any teammates, as campers will be imminent. Suitable for:g-ace-k,tstreets,Brutal,EL_Diablos(tor doesn’t use claymores lol)
DISTANT PORT: A very large map, bigger than Crimson Basin, Distant Port has many surprises, and campers, in store for you…
Strategy #1: You will want to pack a desert eagle. For this strategy. When you respawn at the side where the sniper porch rests, go to the door at the bottom level that has the button. Push it. Have an f2k packed as well for long range. Go all around the house where the 2 teams normally meet, and do it slowly, as someone may go out. Go through the back so people that are on the center field cant notice you. Switch to your desert eagle. Go in the room, and kill the people that may be camping. If all of your teammates have died over that area, do not hesitate to revive them, just do them fast. From this point on go as a team altogether, and place some c4 for some extra people trying to revive. Suited for: Me, Brutal, Clutch, Tor
Strategy #2: Whatever side that you spawn at, switch your weapon set-up to a C-Tac with suppressor instead of muzzle brake. Pack an f90 as well for some mid-battle scrimmages. Head over to the left if you respawn at the camper porch. Head over to the right if you respawn at the right. Head for the small building with 3 entrances, and wait awhile for anyone that may pass by. When the coast is clear, head up until u reached the enemy’s base. Go all the way around to where all the enemies respawned, and follow the normal trail that they will take. If you encounter more than 2 people, either switch to your f90 and take them all out, or hope for the best and aa’ them with the c-Tac. It will be better if you simply zoom in and kill them more smoothly, and when they are alerted, switch to f90.Suited for: g-ace-k, Duke
Terminal Atrocity: A fair map in the game, Terminal offers an equal chance for both teams, and even gives two very strategical camping areas where snipers would normally be
Strategy #1: This strategy is for the side with the big house sniper area only. After spawning, head to the big house, and creep along the edge to get a view of the station. Zoom in with your assault rifle scope and check for enemies. With teammates, advance to the top of the train station. Do not go in the middle, but rather all around until you pass the enemy spawn point. Go to the enemy sniper spot to possibly get an easy kill, but do this with caution, as campers are also possible. Go back to the bridge, and camp behind one of the trains in the endpoints. After awhile and the round isn’t over, if you’re the last man standing, rush towards your base, scatter some claymores behind the fountain so they aren’t visible, and camp away. If everyone on the other team was revived, rush towards the big house again, plant a c4 in the stairs, and camp. Hopefully u can eliminate some people if they rush up in groups. If you do get a multikill, rush downstairs while you still have time, and go revive some teammates. Then, take care of the enemy. Suited for CAMPERS
Strategy #2: This strategy can happen if you spawn on any side. Team up with 2 or 3 people, and stay within a 30 meter radius of each other. Go through the bottom level in the center of the map, and still don’t separate. Go to the big house to check for any campers, and keep on going. When you have searched the area and killed some people off, head towards the train station, and split up in pairs of two, covering more ground. This strategy will make great practice of teamwork. Suited for: Batman, Brawler, Tyler
NOTE: These strategies were designed for suppression ONLY. It will not be very effective with other game modes.
Other Strategies:
-Two weapons are always better than one When playing a game at maps such as iron coffin, and can’t decide between a shotgun and an assault rifle, CHOOSE BOTH! Use the shotgun attachment for the weapon, and kick some ass! This will not work for the f2k and the tar and famas, as they aren’t capable of a shotgun attachment.
-Never try to be a hero. Unless you are extremely experienced, don’t try to shoot from behind a bunch of enemies with no thought. Chances are that you will get owned by the whole team shooting at you simultaneously after you are discovered.
-Always switch to 1-shot for assault rifles when you engage in battle with an enemy from a far distance, make sure to switch to one shot for your assault rifle. If you shoot them with 4 shot on, then you will miss about 1/4 of your shots, and maybe fail if the enemy turns around and kills u in time.
-Zoom in after auto aiming with sniper In this game, snipers are EXTREMELY inaccurate to shoot with when you utilize auto aim. Even though the high zoom is annoying, it will still guarantee a kill if you get a hit on the player.
-Distractions make perfect Throw a grenade, shoot some bullets, do whatever it takes to distract the enemy when one of your men is going around to kill them. Even though you may possibly die, at least it was a worthy sacrifice which will result in a round win
-Be a hardcore camper When it comes to scenarios where people are camping behind the wall waiting for the other one to go, always make sure that you are not the one to go first. Whoever goes first will always assume that the enemy has moved on, and you have to be very patient to achieve this goal. Make sure u keep constant watch of your surroundings to keep safe in case if the enemy went around.
-Don’t pursue an enemy If you begin to shoot an enemy, and they manage to run away far enough behind a wall. Do not go after them. Even if they have low fucking health, they still have the most important element in ftb3, and that is the element of surprise. Just abandon the enemy, and resist any urge to go in and kill him. If you want you may even go around the enemy and kill him hands down.
-Stay Together!!!!If you spawn at a map such as crimson basin, and you go the opposite way, with no one having your back, then that is a very bad move. Stick together to get gang banging kills, and wipe out the team one by one. If one of you die, u have everyone else available to revive you, unless spawn style is off.
Im not done with this thread , so read on!!!
I have decided to tell you on my “top secret” project that I claimed that I was working on last Thursday. I lied to keep its secrecy, but after sharing it with some ftb3 mates(tor, brutal, khamai, crazy), I decided to tell you what it is about
RR MONTAGE!!
I know I said that I won’t make another rr video, but it has been so long since I have made a video that I couldn’t take it anymore and decided to make this montage. So far I have 6 minutes of fucking awesome kills, including all the maps of the game in the vid. These kills are fresh, not from past vids or past footage, and will contain some sick ass kills that will make u jizz your pants lol. This montage will be dedicated to the rr team, and it will be called: Life After Retribution: Resurrection. Yes, it will be seemingly like a continued part to my previous montage, and I hope you guys actually view. And no brutal u wont be featured =P lol jk man ill find a way. The reason I’m making an rr montage instead of a ftb3 montage is because since that noob SwayzeDre already made a montage, with perfect quality and dastardly effects, making a montage compared to that will make mines look like shit. And I don’t want to make any videos with my camera, but with a dazzle and a 3000 av cable, which I will buy soon, or gladly accept any donations from anyone =] lol.
I would like to thank rico for all his contributions to our team on rr, and now topping 330 clan war wins, I am very proud of the effort and wise choices to cut any inactive noobs. Dude u were meant for this job, and I thank you for that bro, keep it up, and make us proud. Even though our team on rr has changed a lot in the last month and a half alone, u still continue to be the best, and for that I salute you =). Gaza man I would like to thank you as well for remaining with DM through these rough times in rr, I know it isn’t the same as before, but don’t worry man, rr reunion night Is April 5th, so I will be on that night to play with you guys. And I hope other join me as well lol. Since its spring break, the montage will be released during the week, so no worries if you guys are eager to see me, and if you happen to need any clan support on rr, I will be glad to join your roster rico lol. That doesn’t mean that I wont play ftb3 as much, just means that after I get off ftb3 I will head straight to rr =). I know that u guys can continue to keep DM’s legacy living on as long as possible, so I still expect rico to be commander in a few weeks and months, and expect a lot more clan war wins. You may also want record the clan war wins achieved and post them in routine threads, just like tornado used to do. And I also expect from the rr team that you practice in no aa rooms!! I have stressed this idea before, and am glad to stress it again. No aa games improve your accuracy drastically, and oddly make you better at normal ranked games, in a way that u pwn with longbow alt. Also, Raven, dude I expect u not to make DM look like a dick on ftb3. u can initially brag and then stop, because we don’t want to seem like we live on past clan wars to support us.
Our future is what supports DM, not the past(metamorphically).I expect our team to grow up once more, strike even more fear in these clans, and DOMINATE ONCE MORE! Show those noobs who the fuck runs the place, and rep DM as much as possible!!(aka boast). Since I noticed that some of you are getting soft on us, I need to to man up and kick some ass for DM’s sake! Gaza and rico, u two deserve the most credit for the team, as it stays alive because of Rico’s leadership and Gaza’s faith and loyalty.. U aren’t like others that start shit with other members, and you two will always have a place in the heart of DM(lol) for your tour of duty in DM. I believe that one day Gaza and rico will post a thread just like this one to inspire the rr team to never give up on any games or clan wars no matter what, and to never lose faith in DM. If you guys EVER need our help for anything involving the team, such as clan wars, hit me up, because ill be down and ready to whoop some ass. That is it for the thread involving the rr team, hope u prosper, don’t back down from shit because people talk shit, and stay strong with spirits up. DM has grown up a lot thanks to the rr team, and it is up to u to show them how we grew to such a staggering height, and whoop some people that are recruited into shape. I am done
Now for the FTB3 team:
Oddly, there is not much to say about the team. We have been playing for a month now, and so much shit has happened. Lets recap at some events that happened in DM on ftb3 as of today (not in order, randomly placed):
-tstreets, BrutalBuccaneer, and I have simultaneously quit DM and made our own roster for DM, but after unapproval from Wicked, and some talking, we have gladly rejoined. Tstreets has yet to return
-PwnDaily and Pin3apple have quit from DM to make their own clan, and took Supastar with them. They made ATR, then Art, and now Worlds Sickest
-Wicked has faithfully resigned as commander AGAIN to dedicate his time to mw2 on 360 as well
-DM beat BTR two times on AWL, while BTR beat us once after 2 days from release. The recent win has caused BTR to disband, causing Doggy’s promise of BTR never dying to go down the toilet
-DM has boasted 11 clan war wins so far, and has lost twice overall, and we are slowly rising.
-DM_Batman has resigned as leader of the 2nd ftb3 roster, and handed his faithful leadership to Brutal, who deserves it all the way
-Chad1231 has been kicked from DM for being extremely inactive. I have also confirmed that Marine Kills is in ftb3 and has not played since
-SImkin-Simkin left the ftb3 roster, and then was cut from DM for showing a unloyal attitude, pissing off members
-Tornado has been promoted to ftb3 commander, and master sergeant in DM overall for his valued contributions to DM in the last year alone.
-Many new kickass recruits have been introduced into DM on ftb3, including AcidRain,Michael(Hunt3r),Mentalist,Newfound,CrazySerious,KhaMa or something like that, and more!
-
Duke and I have been promoted to co-leader of ftb3, I will be co-leader of Brutals roster for the moment
-Nathan,Shoot,Hunt3r,And Maysieh have been promoted to Captain for their faith and loyalty thrust into DM
-Shoot was temporarily cut from Wick3ds roster for pissing him off, and then rejoined Bat’s , just to join Tor’s again
-DM respectfully lost to aBc in an AWL match, and we know we can beat them!
-DM owned TBP in AWL clan war match, and shut their asses up for a few days
-DM got several wins from PoisonedEvil and Michael in a 2v2 clan war against TYM, not AWL
-DM had its illegal loss against The Misfits revoked after tornado found a loophole in the system =)
-A ftb3 uniform designed by Me and Tornado was introduced last week, and so far full participation has been received(except for bun, don’t worry we will get u =)
-Superman was recruited into DM again, where hopefully he will be active
-Sandy has confirmed that ftb3 is not an option for him, and we will not see him on ftb3 any time soon
I am very proud of the ftb3 team, as they have showed drastic improvement since the release of the game, and just like rr, we aren’t the top from the start. Clans like aBc and godlike will eventually disband because they don’t have a home base(clan site) to maintain all communications tied. Just like rr, we will continue to prosper, and proper examples like Brutal will be needed to demonstrate how much time we will stay in DM on ftb3. I am very proud of tornado, as he is one of the most significant people to how we are together. He has maintained us steady with ftb3 updates before release, and got us prepped up with willing members moving on from rr to ftb3. We all congratulate you tor, and now that u make us what we are today
A clan has all the support it can get, and that support comes from Brutal. Your threads for every clan war win and loss has convinced us to be more active, and has bought joy to DM members who don’t play psp as well. We will rise to the top, in time, as we will always have to live in the moment and accept the fact that we aren’t the best, yet .Brutal,I appreciate that u have come to DM instead of making your own clan, and that u like my sense of humor lol, but lets face the facts. You and tornado will and shall lead us to grasp massive victory in the future. By next fall, just like rr, DM will boast so many clan war wins. We will set up an example for other small clans, because it was what we were born to do. You two will make great leaders, and now its up to u two to lead us to the path of victory. As a co-leader, I would’ve possibly promoted someone (if I had the power lol), but tor already did, so I expect u all to keep working, and soon enough all will pay off with a promotion. Those who were already promoted, don’t slouch off, because a demotion for u is possible =)
Michael, I want to also congratulate u on your efforts for DM, seeing as if u were In all the AWL matches we won, and that 2v2 match that we won. U are very strategical, and u have been very loyal towards DM. You are one of the main reasons why im proud of our team. You, along with tor and Brutal, have set a perfect example of how our team is doing. U also follow the rules properly (only one is uniform lol), and actually care about being on the team, and u just aren’t on the team just for the clan addition(like others), u embrace our updates on ftb3, and I appreciate that. Thanks bro!!
Duke, I know you’re a ftb2 favorite, and I have to say, you may be DM’s best ftb3 sniper(I said ftb3, so roy doesn’t count lol), but as a co-leader myself, I must recommend that u play more often bro. Well, it doesn’t really matter. At least Im glad that u will always be DM until u quit or die, and that u use your mic a lot and don’t waste it away by not utilizing it.
The rest of the ftb3, I hope that you continue to rep DM, and stay loyal as much as u can. U guys make up the body of our team, and I make the penis LMFAO jk xD, but we will rise together, lose together, and succeed together!!!!!!!!!!!
-Poisoned
