Well Ya'll know what I do and that it's pretty sweet so I thought I'd upload a few pics for ya'll to see. These are from the hangar at work of mostly 2 custom planes we've built but we're up to 9 now. These are custom built RV-10s, a 4 passenger, single engine, half composite, 1,150lb usefuel load, 200mph airplane, custom leather interior and avionics, instrument panel, etc. airplane. Just to give you an example at how these planes are worth 230Gs, the 260 horsepower TMX IO-540 engine alone costs $40,000. Avionics are usually at LEAST $30,000 although our customers usually get some sophisticated Hi-Tech avionics for their planes making it a complete glass cockpit (all the instruments are digital and computerized with LCD screens and such, FLIPPIN SWEET!) Anyway, without further adu,
The first plane we built, Glass Cockpit. Around $30,000 in avionics.
All custom leather interiors.
Was doing some work up on the shelves of the hangar and took a picture of one of them, our first plane we built and also our show plane we bring to Oshkosh (Largest annual aviation gathering in the world), Sun N Fun (Lakeland,Florida), and all other such gatherings of people who love airplanes and are interested in buying a fabulous new one =).
Last Thursday, did an annual inspection on one of our planes we built 2 1/2 years ago, our second plane actually, but every year you have to have an annual inspection which is checking almost everything, control rods, cables, engine, tires, wheels, brakes, bearings, the whole works. I did everything up to this point except for the engine and had some help on the tires. The next picture is what it looks like all together, it's a different plane but EXACTLY the same except for paint. Notice the fairings (wheel pants) over the tires and wheel struts in the next picture.
This is NOT the same plane as the one 2 pics above, though it has a similar paint scheme, mainly the wings are not painted on this one and they are on the other one. This one we FINALLY got done and delivered to the owner Last Saturday. The door was not securely shut last year when the owner took off with it and the door tore off the plane and hit the rear stabilizer and Elevator damaging it pretty severely so my boss and I went up to Atlanta where it was and took it apart and packed it in a shipping container in 3 days. Just the two of us. Anyway, after nine months, we finally got it back to the owner after some idiotic difficulties on the owners partners side.
And this my friends is the plane we just finished last Friday and some people admiring our work in the afternoon sunlight. BEAUTIFUL
