The official Monopoly GO website has confirmed that developers are investigating a problem with the game’s spin wheel mini-game. This feature, which allows players to earn rewards like dice rolls, cash, and sticker packs, has been behaving abnormally, frustrating many players.

Released in 2023, Monopoly GO has become a major success for developer Scopely, earning over $3 billion since its launch. Known for games like Stumble Guys and WWE Champions, Scopely has continued to expand Monopoly GO with frequent updates and events such as Amazing Partners, Stealthy Soar, and Railroad Rush to keep players engaged. It also features premium options like the Tycoon Club, which offers exclusive benefits, including daily wheel spins. However, the current wheel spin issue has dampened the experience for some.

Scopely’s website acknowledges the problem, specifically with the Amazing Partners event wheel. Players report that the spin wheel appears to slow down nearly to a stop before suddenly speeding up, causing confusion about the intended reward. Many players believe they were about to win one prize, only to receive a different one after the wheel's sudden acceleration. Although Scopely has apologized, some players have expressed dissatisfaction with customer service, as no compensation has been provided for the inconvenience.

In Monopoly GO, players earn spins by completing Color Sets, participating in events, or through incentives like the Tycoon Club. While the issue seems linked to the wheel’s animation rather than the rewards themselves—which are often determined when the spin is initiated—the bug has disrupted gameplay. Considering Scopely’s history of offering in-game freebies, players affected by the issue may receive compensation once the problem is resolved.

As Scopely continues to update and maintain Monopoly GO, it is likely the spin wheel issue will be fixed soon. Developers speculate that an unrelated backend code change may have caused the glitch. Until then, players are advised to stay tuned for further updates and potential resolutions.
