Ok so for the longest time, to get access to Google Voice, you had to be invited by a current user, or apply for an invite using your school email address and wait a few months for an invite.
Well now it appears to be open to everyone with a gmail account.
I definitely encourage you to try it out. There are a ton of cool features including:
- Personalized voicemail recordings, so if I miss a call from a hoe, they will hear a different message than someone calling me for a job interview.
- Voicemails are transcribed so you can read them. THis is handy for me because the volume on my voicemail is so effing quiet and I can never hear it. I imagine this will be useful for deaf ppl too.
There are a bunch of other features too.
