i won't buy this either. sony will never get another cent from me for a psp or a psp game. they have long neglected this system and will continue to do so. they obviously care more about the ps3. and now that i have one im not going back. idc if there's an rr2 or not

That's known as the track pad. Believe you me, I didn't agree with it either.

They got two analog sticks, directional pad, 4 buttons, touch screen, L/R buttons, and a track pad! It's like Sony is trying to create the next BOP-IT! lmfao

The track pad is a very innovated and unique thing to have. Why a track pad would be more convenient would be because:
1. You never use those fingers in the back
2. More importantly, a track pad in the rear would prevent your hand covering the touch screen if it was used for gaming purposes. I mean the DS mainly relies on using a touch screen. However, half the time you need to use the touch screen, your hand and stylus just cover the screen.

I guess it's just how developers just optimize the use of using the track pad for gaming. Hopefully some really techniques are evolved.

3G means you can play online from any location that has access to a 3G network. Meaning you can play on the train, in dorms, etc. My guess is that you have to buy a data plan for 3G coverage, I seriously doubt it'll be free.
