Dying Light 2's Tower Raid mode makes a comeback in the newly released 1.19 update, following its removal during the game's previous update in August.
In June, Techland allowed players to experience a beta version of Tower Raid, a mode inspired by the popular VNC Tower mission. This mode transformed the game into a roguelike experience, rewarding players with loot for reaching the end of a skyscraper dungeon. While many enjoyed the fun and challenging nature of Tower Raid, it was ultimately discontinued after the beta period. However, Techland has now reinstated the mode in Dying Light 2 through the latest patch.

The 1.19 update, which launched on October 30, introduces Tower Raid: Halloween Run, a special Halloween-themed version of the beloved activity. This iteration includes a new final boss, three additional floor types, and a cast of Halloween-themed characters, each boasting unique loadouts, traits, and playstyles. For instance, the Scarecrow character has a larger health pool, while Van Aiden excels in ranged damage, giving Dying Light 2 a more class-based shooter feel compared to its typical zombie survival gameplay.

In addition to reintroducing Tower Raid, the 1.19 update also fixes bugs, enhances quality of life, and implements various other tweaks. One notable fix addressed an issue with the Diva side quest, while another resolved a freezing problem that occurred when players opened the map while transitioning locations.

Tower Raid: Halloween Run will be available until November 20. Players who find the activity challenging can utilize two types of perks for buffs while exploring the dungeon. Session Perks can be purchased with Halloween Candies, the special currency for the current event, while Character Perks are earned through trading Perk Points.

Meanwhile, Techland is actively developing Dying Light: The Beast, a standalone experience that originally began as a DLC for Dying Light 2. This upcoming game will follow the protagonist Kyle Crane and is expected to deliver at least 18 hours of new gameplay.
