It has been passed on to me from a source that is involved in primarily screenwriting for television and film, although they sometimes are brought on as a consultant to review storytelling in the videogame industry. - It is a soft reboot of sorts à la Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019
- The story has undergone several "rewrites"
- The story was originally based on Sledgehammer Games canceled "Fog of War" story (?)
- The story will incorporate CIA Operatives Alex Mason, Frank Woods, and Jason Hudson, although they will not be playable characters
- The story primarily takes place in Vietnam with "offshoots" in other Cold War-era locations
- The story involves the uncovering of covert Soviet operations and human experimentation
- The story begins with your US infantry unit being attacked in the dead of the night by Vietcong forces with an emphasis on stealth gameplay after the initial attack
- The story will have "visceral" elements to keep it grounded (mentioned blood, gore, torture scenes)
- References to the assassination of John F. Kennedy and MK-ULTRA, along with a playable segment involving Operation Northwoods
