The highly successful action RPG Black Myth: Wukong will finally have its physical release for PlayStation 5 on December 12, 2024. While the game has been available digitally for over two months, fans eager to own a physical copy can now mark their calendars for the upcoming launch.

Developed by Chinese studio Game Science, Black Myth: Wukong has already achieved remarkable success, surpassing $1 billion in revenue on Steam within just two months of release. This achievement does not even include its PlayStation 5 sales, making it an impressive feat for a studio that has only been active since 2014 and has previously released just two other titles.

PM Studios, known for publishing physical versions of indie games, confirmed the upcoming PlayStation 5 physical edition in a recent Twitter post. The game will be available in both the U.S. and European markets on December 12, though no information has been provided regarding a release in other regions, such as Brazil.

Fans had eagerly anticipated the physical release after the game launched in a digital-only format, and while an initial leak hinted at a U.S. release date of October 21, that date was instead reserved for pre-orders. The physical edition will include a disc, allowing collectors to add the game to their libraries.

In addition to the physical PlayStation 5 release, Xbox Series X|S players may soon get the chance to experience the game as well. A mid-October rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) suggests that the Xbox version could be released in the near future, although delays have postponed its initial launch alongside the PS5 and PC versions.
