actually that is exactly wat my religion (Islam) does. it states that there will be major signs that will occur on earth that will show that it is close to the end of the world. we dont beleive that we r lunitics, and nor do other people. infact alot of the smaller signs have already occured, but not enough to suggest that the world will end in 2012.
still-kill4 i thank u so much for showing how science and religion can intermix and be as one. i wudnt exactly go as far to say that the religion of Islam is indeed a science, but as ur video showed, God gives us hints that we can proove here on Earth to show that he does truely exist. the info u have posted has really solidified the fact that there is a God, and now when i teach the kids mosque about Islam i can use this information to help

Some ppl believe that every 12,000 years a major event happens on the earth, A cleanzing of the earth so to speak. Dec 12 of 2012 is the switching from the era of Pices... to the era of Sagittarius. Some scientists believe is the earth will reverse magnetic fields at over 2000mph. Causing severe winds that will cause floods and more or less level everything standing...... Far fetched i know....

and Jesse, i detected a bit of sarcasm in your post. Just to make my self a bit clearer, i have nothing against religious beliefs. I have my own set of morals and spiritual guidelines. I think these are very necessary in living a productive life as a decent human beings. I personally do not believe in a God, but that's just me.
What i absolutely detest is organized religion. Christianity above all else.
Not because of its beliefs, but because of the unnecessary conflicts that result from it.
Just think of all the wars that have resulted from religion : The Crusades, Cristero Wars in Mexico, the middle eastern conflicts between Palestine and Israel, etc.
Not to mention other acts of violence: Christian Fundamentalist killing abortion doctors, Islamic Fundamentalist and their largely publicized terrorist attacks, Christians assaulting and killing homosexuals, etc.

probably worse of all, Christians teaching their children to hate anyone who opposes their views. I remember i saw a movie, i dont quite remember which one, it might've been Borat. But there was a scene where the character visits some kind of religious gathering (it wasn't a church, looked more like a giant auditorium), and there a little boy who tells the camera in very explicit detail how much he hates Middle Eastern people and homosexuals.
It's this type of mental brainwash that is so much more dangerous than any act of terrorism. Because it happens HERE, in our own country, and there is no way of combating it.
Bill O'Reilly, Glen Beck, Steve (is that his first name?) Hannity, those are guys that use their television shows to spread the ideas of Christian Fundamentalism. they present their news stories in a very biased fashion, often twisting the words of people, to promote their own agendas.
Just look them up on youtube, you'll see how horrible these people are.
I think it was O'Reilly who made comments about how Roman Polanski's rape victim got what was coming to her because she was dressing very inappropriately.
It's ridiculous to think that people would cling to their SUBJECTIVE views with such conviction that they would kill other human beings.

i would take the time to dispel any of the things you said, but that would mean i consider you to be a reasonable person.

Unfortunately Rizza, you have almost completely misjudged me. I meant my comment in all earnesty, with no sarcasm whatsoever. I am a realist, and as such, a seeker of truth. I like to see things exactly as they are, with no exaggeration or holding back of the complete truth. I myself also abhor the people who if they could not force their beliefs on someone, took it upon themselves to end their lives in the most horrific, sadistic, painful way possible, such as before the Reformation. I am watching a series as we speak of King Henry and the events leading up to and through the Reformation and in the series they re-enacted the horrors of the Catholic clergy of the time in burning alive the early Lutheran believers and those who did not believe beyond question the supremacy of the Roman Catholic Church. They also showed the boiling alive of a person. Granted, this is only a tv show and they are distorted and also many times merely a work of fiction. However, I have studied this time in history and the horrors and genocide the catholic church committed are in no way ever shown to their full extent to the average man who has not studied that dark time. However, there have been many tyrants and murderers who have done evil deeds in the name of something other than "God." This you must acknowledge. Now, I am a Christian in the purest form, meaning I believe without reservation what the original unrevised Bible written by the ancient men of God such as Moses, the prophets, and his apostles wrote down in the Greek and Hebrew. The reason I believe the Bible, is I have found it's contents to be true in every aspect. Now, the reason you are gravely mistaken about me is this: it is well known around here that I believe the Bible because it has not been shown to be false, if anyone here can show me where the Bible is blatantly wrong in any way, I will throw mine away and continue seeking the truth, whatever that may be. I do not condemn or damn any of you here, for whatever reasons or things you practice which I may personally believe to be wrong. My very continual presence for the past 2 and a half years here confirms this. Another thing well known is I do not believe in "religion," as you say. Religion is man-made, however, those who observe different religions may do as they wish without discrimination from me, this is why I love my America so much. I personally do not hold to religious traditions, whatever they may be, only those things I have read directly from the Bible, except for holidays such as Christmas and Easter, which I think you will agree are harmless. I do not "hate" homosexuals or middle eastern people, or much of anything you just stereotyped me as. I am very tolerant of whatever you're personal beliefs may be, and everyone here can back me up on that. The other things you listed, such as killing of homosexuals, abortion doctors, and etc, you must also acknowledge happens everywhere for a multitude of other reasons than you just listed, religious or otherwise. Others are killed for land, others control, and some just for the pleasure of killing, religious fanatics are not solely to blame. Much in this world is evil. I am a very open minded person and greatly love to discuss many philosophical, logical, or interesting ideas anyone may have. I hope you understand me better now my friend. =)

The othr day we were watching this Documentary in school about a man who practices Christianity as a religion living 30 days as a muslim. In the beggining they ask him what he thinks a muslim looks like. He says "Umm, a guy. Covered in robes, with an AK-47." Very stereotypical

Human's deny truth because we have a choice to ignore the problems that we face in life. It doesn't have to be something we already know or don't know, doesn't matter. We make our own "truth" by observations and facts.
