You can now spend up to $3 for a gold BattlePack.

BattlePacks started as a novel idea for Battlefield 4: a quick way to unlock a bunch of things at the same time. Pretty quickly thought, BattlePacks turned out to be nothing more than “meh”. Most of them contained some odd emblem shapes, or silencers for guns we haven’t unlocked yet. Or XP boosts.
In fact, BattlePacks are so abundant that most players are more annoyed with them than anything else. But that’s not stopping DICE from introducing BattlePacks as micro-transactions in Battlefield 4. That’s right, you can now pay money to get BattlePacks.
A bronze BattlePack will cost $1, a silver one will cost $2, while a gold BattlePack will set you back $3. That’s right, $3 for a set of weapon camos, a pistol silencer, and a foregrip. You might get lucky though, there might even be a 25% XP boost in there.
