Ubisoft suggests "sign in system might work after several tries."
By Steve WattsA problem with Ubisoft's Uplay server authentication is causing delays for those trying to play Watch Dogs today.
The official Watch Dogs Twitter updated this morning with a notice about*authentication issues. In its most recent update, Ubisoft stated*it is still working on the issue.
"All the possible efforts are put into the resolution of this problem. We are currently monitoring the situation closely," read the statement. "The connection is rising and the issue still seems intermittent, the sign in system might work after several tries."
Players on*NeoGAF*complained shortly after release about an unrecoverable Uplay error and connection issues, and IGN's Dan Stapleton*noted*his own problems with the PC version this morning as well.
The Xbox Live Status page updated with its own message on the subject, stating that the authentication issues aren't limited to Watch Dogs' features alone. According to it, the Uplay problems are interfering with features in other games like Trials Fusion, Child of Light, FIFA 14, and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. "We are working hard on the issues with our partners to get them resolved as quickly as possible. Thanks for your patience. We'll update you on our progress as soon as we have more information."
Watch Dogs released today, and received a positive reception in our IGN review. IGN called it "very well made" aside from the weak car chases and auto-fail stealth missions.
