This is so much cooler than Alf coming back in Pog form. The Simpsons may finally get its very own Lego set, if this leaked image of 742 Evergreen Terrace turns out to be the real deal.*The box image above was snapped by “the brother of a Facebook friend” with access to the purported goods, and it was then uploaded to the EuroBricks forums by a reputable leaker. The set looks like 2,523 pieces of pure Springfield goodness.
In addition to the beautifully detailed house, you’ll also get Homer’s car and minifigs galore: Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. And buenos ding-dong-diddly dias, you’ll even get Ned Flanders and his beloved barbecue Propane Elaine so that you can put the heat to the Lego meat.*Other nice details include a quarter pipe for Bart to skate on and a stray plutonium rod for Homer to fling carelessly out the window.
So is the Lego Simpsons house something that could really happen? Definitely.
Gone are the days of Lego being a building toy that’s primarily aimed at kids. You need only look at Lego’s current offerings to see that they’re well aware that more veteran brick lovers are ready and willing to spend cash on their sets.*From the architecture series to Minecraft,*and the $500 Death Star to the Curiosity Rover, Lego knows that there’s money to be made selling to grown ups. A set like The Simpsons*souse — which would almost certainly ring in at around $300 or $350 — is sure to be a hit with adult collectors.
It’s the perfect way to get the ball rolling, too. Up next (hopefully): Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, Mr. Plow vs. Plow King, Willie’s shack — the possibilities are excitingly endless!
