There are so few people privy to the entire process of creating something as big as Titanfall, but thanks to this incredible app by Geoff Keighley called The Final Hours of Titanfall, you can take an entertaining look from game conception to launch and almost everything in between.
Titanfall has been a huge success by any measure, and it has only gotten better since launch thanks to regular and consistent updates. The story of how this game came to be is a little more interesting than most because it’s the first game made by the newly formed Respawn Entertainment, a company that was formed by gaming industry veterans. The Final Hours of Titanfall tells the story from inception to award winning first-person shooter through an interactive app full of behind the scenes photos, video and even a game or two along the way.
Rather than package this up in an iBook or an interactive comic, The Final Hours of Titanfall exists as a standalone app. This offers the author the flexibility to make the content much more interactive and substantial, taking an otherwise interesting 25,000 word long story and turning it into something that fans of the game will enjoy spending their time exploring. The app gives you a chapter-by-chapter breakdown that can be easily navigated, as well as visuals that can be flipped through every couple of paragraphs.

If you need to take a break from all of the reading, you can jump into the Hammond Industries Wall Running Simulator, a simple 2D side scrolling game where you cover the basics of Pilot movement. You can wall run, double jump, and use the combination of the two in order to get to the end of the level. It’s short, so you won’t be distracted for hours, but it’s a fun thing added to the mix.
For $1.99, this is the best accessory for any Titanfall fan that is out there today. It’s a great story of how Respawn delivered a smash hit, and you can get it yourself on iOS, Surface, and for PC or Mac. If you’re still not sure you want to make the purchase, you can check out a chapter on Medium to see if it’s up your alley.
