It looks like Samsung is not too far away from releasing a budget phablet, because they are convinced that is what the world needs right now.
Without a doubt, Samsung is responsible for the current popularity of the increasingly huge Android phone market. The fact that there are significantly more 5-inch or larger Android phones out there from major manufacturers than there are handsets that actually can be used with one hand is not a mistake, and you can be sure that this coming year will see even more phones in that category.
Samsung is now looking to contribute to the phablet market in their own unique way by releasing a budget version of their popular stylus-equipped smartphone.

There’s not a ton known yet about the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo, originally thought to be called the Note 3 lite, but there’s plenty of evidence and rumors to suggest that it is on the way. With a 5.55-inch 720p SAMOLED display, 8MP camera, 3,100 mAh battery, and Exynos processor it is clearly not going to be competing with the rest of the big boys this year.
Samsung may be looking to release a lower cost large screen phone to counter devices like the Oppo N1 in China, but like we’ve seen with the S3 and S4 Mini, it is likely we’ll see a US appearance at some point.
This is the kind of thing Samsung has been known to announce at Mobile World Congress, and since we know that the Galaxy S5 release is still months away and Samsung just got done announcing a line of new tablets at CES, it seems likely that we’ll see more details on this phone in Barcelona.
