MasterofGrond’s Waco Night Terrors (Imposing Sea Creatures) held on to first place behind a strong pitching week, including an RCL-best 0.68 ERA.* Max Scherzer, Homer Bailey, Madison Bumgarner, and A.J. Burnett all pitched well. They missed Miguel Cabrera this week, and now the Night Terrors must deal with the loss of Nelson Cruz. They did already get 27 home runs from him, though.

Movers and Shakers: Calvin Shiraldi (Humm Baby) gained 88 positions to reach the top 100 for the first time since June 3rd. In the league featuring 2012 Razzball Commenter League champions, Big Magoo moved up in the standings for the fifth straight week and now sits in 104th.
Free Agents: Danny Farquhar was picked up in 62 leagues after grabbing a couple of saves for the Mariners. And, of course, suspended players*Everth Cabrera, Nelson Cruz, Jhonny Peralta, and Antonio Bastardo were being dropped by everyone who was paying attention. Here are some other players whose ownership numbers changed in the last week.
EXPERTS: Dr. Roto has the lead for the sixth week in a row, with Rudy two-and-a-half back in second. The defending champion, Ryan Carey (Mastersball), added 3.5 points and moved up a spot to 7th. His team hit .286 with 52 runs, 14 home runs, and 41 RBI. Grey hit .222 with just 28 runs and 30 RBI, but impressed on the pitching side with an ERA of 2.15 and 0.90 WHIP. Writers: Tehol Beddict lost 3 points this week, but second place Andrew dropped 4 points, so Tehol actually increased his lead to 14. His pitching staff let him down, finishing with an ERA of 4.29 and 1.37 WHIP. TB was also involved in a trade, sending Wil Myers and Glen Perkins to Slim Smitty for Yasiel Puig. Andrew had an ERA under 1.00 for the second straight week, lowering his season ERA to 2.63. Despite mostly ignoring this league, Nick improved three-and-a-half points on the strength of a .309 average and 2.37 ERA. He is in danger of failing to meet the 1000 innings pitched minimum, though. Trades: The deadline has now passed after 379 trades involving 1175 players were completed. This week a package of Nate McLouth, Joaquin Benoit, and Koji Uehara brought back Stephen Strasburg. David Price was dealt for Yasiel Puig. Adrian Beltre, Joey Votto, and Bryce Harper were each traded for a pair of players. Beltre was given up for Jacoby Ellsbury and Jake Peavy.
