PS3 Problem

i have a ps3 but a while ago i destroyed 1 part of it. the memory card slot cover.( MEMORY CARD COVER!)

Ps3 still works but the cover cant be put back in.

will something happen to my ps3 in the near future?
i dnt use the memory card reader though.

I would assume the only thing that could wrong is liquids and dust and other things could get into your playstation.

You could most likley get away with a makeshift cover as long as nothing that isn't suppose to be in their isn't getting in there.

If that doesn't work I dont know what would aside from buying a whole new playstation...
