In the first six months of 2013, Nintendo dominated game software sales in Japan.

Nintendo was by far and away the most successful single publisher in Japan in the first half of 2013, passing nearest rival Namco Bandai by a not insignificant margin of 1.71 million – that’s more sales than anyone outside the top three even made.
By individual platform, the 3DS hugely outsold its rivals, with Animal Crossing: New Leaf the top performer despite its late start. The 3DS was the only platform to shift games in millions of units. By comparison, the Vita had software sales on par with the PSP.
The PS3 was the only platform to fall in the mid-range, with the Wii U performing as poorly as Sony’s handhelds and its precursor the Wii. The Xbox 360 was not tracked at all.
The figures are available in full below, and were extracted from Famitsu by Nintendo Everything.
