The latest update for Grand Theft Auto V introduces a number of changes and addresses a variety of issues, perhaps the most notable of which is the removal of the North Yankton area that was recently discovered in Grand Theft Auto Online.
Through a somewhat unintuitive process, players could cause North Yankton -- the area from the prologue of the Grand Theft Auto V campaign -- to appear as a floating area over the southeastern part of the map in GTA Online. It could then be visited by aircraft, where players were then free to roam the snowy area, including parts of it not seen in the campaign.
The removal of this glitch is just one aspect of the 1.08 title update for GTA V that is now live. The patch increases cash payouts for certain events (including multiple-lap races and the losing teams in Last Team Standing and Team Deathmatch), adds support for a beta version of crew head-to-head matches, and makes it more difficult for players to deliberately cause tank drivers to earn a Bad Sport rating.*Rockstar also introduced new Capture the Flag modes for GTA Online players as part of the game's update.
Earlier this month, tools for players to create their own Deathmatch and Race events were released for free. Meanwhile, downloadable content for the single-player portion of GTA V is planned for release next year.
