Apple has a well-established tick-tock update cycle for the iPhone at this point. Ever other year we see a big refresh, with the others bringing a spec bump and small tweaks. Having just gotten the iPhone 5s last year, everyone is expecting a substantial update for the iPhone 6 this fall. With the help of some leaked schematics and case designs, graphic designer Martin Hajek has created a render of what the new iPhone might look like. Actually, it’s not bad at all for a fan render.
The base mode of the iPhone 6 is expected to increase in size to 4.7-inches in order to keep up with the ever-increasing scale of Android phones. A larger surface area will also give engineers the opportunity to pack components into the device more comfortably, resulting in a thinner design. The edges are also a little more rounded in this iteration, at least based on leaked sketches from China. The blue case in the image is likely a third-party design, not an official Apple accessory.

Along with the 4.7-inch render, there is also a larger 5.5-inch imagined phone. Apple is expected at this point to take the fight to Android by venturing into phablet territory, but rumors about this larger device point to possible production problems that could delay the release. With the larger frames, both sizes of the leaked phone have a power button along the right side, just like most Android devices.
Specs and features for this device are still very much rumor, but the usual myriad of leaks point to a faster Apple A8 processor, improved camera with optical image stabilization, and possibly a $100 price increase (making the on-contract price for the cheapest model $300). It’s going to be a few more months before Apple officially unveils the iPhone 6, so these renders will have to keep you going until then.
