The hits just keep on coming, and while it’s getting more and more difficult to see the line between fake and real when it comes to Apple leaks, there’s a good chance we’re in for some wild physical changes with the iPhone 6.
If you’re a big fan of how the current generation iPhone looks and feels, there’s a distinct possibility you’re going to need to get over it soon. Evidence seems to be piling up from everywhere suggesting that the iPhone 6 is going to rock a 4.7-inch display and a massive overhaul on the outside.
Each new leak shows more and more of a design that looks like the iPad mini and iPad Air in design, and with these changes in size and shape come an even thinner phone with a power button on the side opposite the volume buttons. The change is so significant, one leaker has decided to show the new frame beside the previous versions of the iPhone.
The power button shift makes it clear that Apple is still gunning for one-handed usage, which has been a big deal for the company in the past. When the iPhone last got a screen size bump, there were several ads showing off the way your thumb could reach the whole screen and how important that is to users. A departure from that message means that even Apple recognizes larger displays are what people want. More importantly, it opens the door to Retina displays with Full HD (1080p) panels and a bigger battery to handle the bump in screen size.
We’re still quite a ways away from any kind of launch, but the notion that the iPhone 5S is the last small iPhone is more than a little exciting. The larger phone casing could mean several other enhancements beyond the motion co-processor that was found in the previous version of the phone..
