Ok, so my old P.O.S. tv broke and RCA is making me pay $85 to have it replaced. F THAT.

I'm thinking about just upgrading to HD. I was in Wal-Mart yesterday (don't look at me like that, I just went there because of their prices) and browsed their selection and it looks like 32'' will suit my needs.

I don't know any of this jargon like "hdmi" or "1080p", can you guys help a CPT out? What are some good brands? Good features? Thanks guys, means a lot.

PS - I don't have an unlimited budget here, so the less expensive, the better.

Like I said, I'm on a budget. My parents say they can pay for half, so I can probably put up $400. So somewhere in the $800 neighborhood would be good.

Cpt, i got a 42" LCD, beautiful graphs, but get the extra warrenty cause they are prone to getting lines in the screen, Plasmas really blow if u have sunlight hitting them and my buddy has problems with the channel sig thingy that doesnt move burning into his screen, eg MTV sig.

yea Cpt thats a good choice.

i read on cnet that the 1080p is not noticable unless your t.v. is at a 52'' or larger. plus Samung is like King of the Flat Panels.

ps. Lost is shot in 720p, so youll be able to watch Evangeline Lilly in best possible resolution.

I got 32" 1080i, don't go crazy thinking oOoOo 1080p i must have it because it has a "p" at the end !!. Ermm...I don't see the difference in color quality...unless you go up really close and let you cornea touch the screen, then you might be in chance of seeing the extra difference.

Thanks for the advice hxe3rs, I'll take that into consideration.

I'm back home for the weekend, so we'll see if I can get some TV action going.

i isn't fully HD. You should get something like 720p or 1080p and yes we can see a big difference between 720i or 720p while playing game.
