Android may be the central focus for Samsung’s mobile division, but their Windows Phone efforts are likely to take center stage during Mobile World Congress.
While the world waits with very little patience for Samsung to unveil their next flagship Android handset — the Galaxy S5, the company is planning a big shindig during their presentation in Barcelona. Their invitation is a little confusing, as it is called Unpacked 5 when it is in fact the sixth Unpacked event they have done so far.
Despite everything we’ve heard about the Galaxy S5 being announced in March, there’s a lot of suspicion that Samsung will steal the show and announce their flagship Android phone at MWC. Fortunately, the infamous EVLeaks has come forward with some information regarding what is more likely to be shown off at this event.

The Samsung Huron Windows Phone is a fantastic example of what Windows Phone 8.1 is going to bring to the table. The Snapdragon S4 processor and 5-inch 1080p screen almost makes it looks like a previous generation Galaxy model, but the huge Windows logo on the classic oval button and no soft keys on either side makes it clear what is going on inside this phone. The enhanced resolution running Windows 8.1 means there will be more space for more tiles on the screen, and it will be in the slim and light casing Samsung has a reputation for using recently.
This next generation of Windows Phone handhelds is going to be particularly interesting because it’ll be the first wave with Nokia under Microsoft’s banner. Nokia and Samsung have fundamentally different ideas about how the outside of a phone should look and feel, and those differences will offer Windows Phone users more choice even when it seems like there aren’t a lot of options available.
