If you commute to work or work on the go, chances are one or more of your gadget batteries are running on empty long before the day is over. That means either relying on regularly gaining access to a power outlet or taking matters into your own hands and carrying around a portable battery full of extra juice.
The problem with portable batteries is that if you intend on recharging a smartphone, tablet, and laptop, you need quite a bulky and heavy duty battery. EnerPlex, already well-known for its range of portable batteries, realizes this and has come up with a super thin solution you won’t mind or even notice you are carrying around.
The Jumpr Slate has been unveiled at CES 2014, and is set to come in both 5,000mAh and 10,000mAh capacities, offers up two full-size and one micro USB connection, and will cost $59 and $99 respectively. That’s pretty good value and allows for multiple device charging at once, but the best feature is how slim this battery is. At 6.7mm thick, it’s quite possibly the thinnest lithium polymer portable battery available.
At that thickness the Jumpr Slate should slide easily down the side of an Ultrabook or tablet without needing to purchase a bigger bag. Alternatively, just throw it in a general bag and forget about it. The battery is sure to add weight, but won’t be taking up much space.
EnerPlex says that both models of the Jumpr Slate will be available before the end of January. Hopefully before then we’ll also have further details about specific dimensions, weight, and how long it will take to recharge.
