EA CEO says the BF4 launch was "unacceptable" and assures gamers that it won't happen again.

It took EA over six months and lots of headaches for gamers before the company finally admitted that Battlefield 4 had a horrible launch. Not just a horrible launch, but the first horrible six months on the market. Only recently has the game been stable and polished enough to be actually fun to play. Some of the time, at least.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson admitted to Eurogamer that the Battlefield 4 launch was “unacceptable”, adding that DICE has learned a “valuable lesson” and that it won’t happen again.
Wilson said that the answer is to lengthen the development cycles of the games, in order to get more quality control. He said that the developers at DICE were hit hard by the reception of the game. “People in the studio have taken this very personally,” Wilson said, adding that DICE has learned from the experience.

Both BF3 and BF2 had a bad launch, where both games needed several patches before they were playable and stable. With battlefield 4, this was much worse, requiring dozens of updates and months of work.
