EA is now offering BF3 for free on Origin, which has caused a huge spike in players.
EA is currently running a promo for its Origin users on PC: they’re giving away BF3 for free. You just have to log in to Origin and download the game. The offer has been valid since the beginning of the weekend and ends tomorrow.
In only two days, BF3 has, unsurprisingly, seen player numbers skyrocket, quickly eclipsing Battlefield 4. According to stats networks, BF3 player numbers are now 3X those of Battlefield 4.
We’re sure that Battlefield 4′s various problems and issues have been a nice incentive for many gamers to go and try BF3, which tends to be a much smoother and stable game.
If you already have BF3 in your Origin account, you can download Plants Vs Zombies for free instead. The offers last until tomorrow, June 3rd.
While we’re not surprised that the free promo has caused BF3 player numbers to increase rapidly, we’re surprised that it has been this successful compared to Battlefield 4.
