If you purchased Battlefield 4 at launch on either PC or PS4, you are probably sick to death of the so-called one-hit kill bug. It means that a single bullet can cause damage multiple times to a character meaning instant death and one shot kills. This occurrs for weapons that were never meant to be able to perform such quick kills.
Thankfully, tomorrow that bug will disappear, as developer Dice is set to release a new patch for both the PC and*PS4 versions. For the PS4, the patch also fixes a crash when playing a game when you have a lot of friends, and audio is also being enabled for video captures.
PC gamers are getting a few more issues resolved. As well as the one-hit kill fix, a bug that saw audio randomly drop out has been fixed, the crash occurring when exiting the single player campaign and going back to the main menu shouldn’t happen anymore, and the network and PC performance screens will show the right values and perform true tests of your hardware.
The PS4 patch is set for release tomorrow afternoon across Europe, so mid-morning EST most likely. The PC patch has a more specific timeframe, arriving at 10AM GMT, so 5am EST. An hour later the China Rising content is set to be released, which will also result in some server downtime so support for the China Rising content can be added.
If all goes to plan, though, tomorrow evening access should be back to normal and your copy of the game should have fewer bugs to contend with.
