Mondays and Thursdays can be hell for daily fantasy baseball, but if you approach it the right way you can make a killing. There are fewer players to choose from and everyone has to deal with the same things that you do. One of the key things to do is to take advantage of players that qualify at more than one position.
Several players fit that description and they will be prominently displayed in my lineup. For instance, both Jason Kipnis and Matt Carpenter are very productive second basemen. Luckily, Carpenter is eligible at third, so you can start two very productive players at the same time. This is one of those days you want to have as strong a position player lineup as possible, because pitching choices are going to be few and far between.
Even with these strategic gems, days like today can make you run headlong into fantasy football. Draftkings wants to keep your head in the game with great offers and terrific contests. Personally, I love coming back and giving it another go whether I’ve won or lost the previous day. Draftkings is offering more.*They are running one more huge contest and this one only cost two dollars to qualify. The*$100K Sweet Spot*will run on August 23rd. Unlike many of the other contests, this one is very affordable. So, don’t give up on fantasy baseball quite yet.
Today, I’m playing in a*Double Up! contest*again. They range anywhere from a dollar to ten dollars, but each works the same way. If you finish in the top half you get almost twice as much as you put in. Naturally, DraftKings gets their cut because they have to pay their employees, the light bill, and make a little for their trouble. That being said, they are very generous to those that start playing as they*will give you a deposit bonus you can access*here.

Notes
C Carlos Santana 4,100
7.2
Santana may not be the sexy name he was, but he is still a top five fantasy catcher.
1B Eric Hosmer 3,900
7.5
As Dan Patrick used to say, Eric Hosmer is en fuego. He is nearing .300 which seemed impossible in May.
2B Jason Kipnis 4,100
9.2
He is the top fantasy infielder on this day.
3B Matt Carpenter 4,100
8.4
Lucky for us that he is eligible at both third base and second base.
SS Asdrubal Cabrera 3,600
6.9
There isn’t a lot to choose from as shortstops are concerned.
OF Torii Hunter 4,100
8.5
He is steady and on a day like today, steady is often good enough.
OF Allen Craig 4,500
8.2
He is eligible at both first and the outfield. He is on pace for 100 RBIs.
OF Shane Victorino 4,300
8.0
Since coming back from injury, he has been quietly productive.
P Bruce Chen 8,000
7.2
The FPPG is not indicative of how well he has been pitching of late.
P Jon Lester 9,100
15.3
Lester has largely disappointed, but when you distill the expectations away you still have a solid pitcher.
