The heats causes the mother board to bend, and the x-clamps don't have enough pressure to keep the heatsinks down with a good connection to the GPU/CPU. Or there is a solder problem that has worked them loose. What I do is clean them off, because they did a crappy job of applying silver...

There are videos all over the internet with how to do it. Some people just don't feel comfortable taking apart their xboxs
