Yeah life starts at conception. But what kind of life? Lets examine at.
Most states only allow abortions up to a certain point, lets say 2 months. I think thats about right in most states, i could be mistaken.
At that age, this "life" has no conscience awareness, and not even the slightest bit of self sufficiency. It's alive, but its not living. That's what matters.
Terminating this life is not murder. You can argue that its the "easy" way out, sure. THAT argument i can respect, but i disagree.
Even if it is the easy way out, why is that a bad thing?
Scientific advances that ease the tribulations of humans are not to be condemned.
But that is a separate argument, I wont get into it. For now, I'll concede the whole "its the easy way out" argument. This would turn into more of a philosophical discussion. I've been in enough debates to know those always end in stalemates.
A lot of people will say that this is only right in extreme cases (rape and incest). I find this curious...you're telling me that a daughter can have sex with his father, and then go and get an abortion?
If the sex was forced unto her, would this not be rape? Why the need for both categories?
Either the incest was voluntary or not.
If it is, then why should they not live with the "consequences of their actions"?
If it is not, then it would count as rape.
Anyone taking a basic biology course would know how the whole disease process works. The argument that incest will create horribly diseased babies is simply not true.
