Fact vs Feeling

In school my class got into a very heated debate about what matters more....Facts of Feelings. The situation where one has to decide which is more important to them occurs more often then you might think. For instance, in gaming.....when recruiting....a player might have a history of clan hoping(fact), but at the same time you feel like they will be loyal if you let them in.

Just curious what you guys think. Generally most people who think more logically pick fact, while those who think slightly more speratically choose feelings. I am a logical person, but i still choose feeling. I would rather make decision based on how i feel than a persons history.

Wow I've never really thought about it before

I thought about the recruiting example you brought up, and I thought about recruiting Cyc for mohh2. He came to me asking to join. We had just beaten him in a war so was thinking at first: why would we want someone who we can beat? But he was solid against us so I gave him a shot and that was like the best decision I ever made because Cyc turned out to be like DM's most consistent and reliable teammate for mohh2. So I guess I jumped at the chance to use facts, but used feelings in the end?

I kind of did the same thing with DR. I absolutely HATED hackers on mohh1, and when I got on the site and heard that DR was like the g0df4th3r of h4x, I was like man fuck you. BUT I got to know the guy and he like the coolest MF around, so I poured out my bottle of Haterade. Feeling > Fact

In everyday life it seems like I mix both all the time. I guess I always face situations based on the facts, then I always get swayed by my feelings.

In real life this situation happens all the time to me. I just take an extra minute to think about it. Cause so many things really come down to whether you choose the facts or your own feelings. And i love to think about that.

Its true we as gamers more or less act on our feelings more than fact. Though its weird when we act on fact rather than feeling. WHen morbid quit and d all the things he did.. I knew he was still the loyal guy I grew up wit in DM. I acted on my trust and feelings towards hm to let him back in DM. Look at us now, Im glad to have him back.

But with Clutch I decided to use fact. The fact that he quit DM 3x and has a bad past with us and all the stuff. I had lost all respect and feelings towards him and I let the facts override the feelings.

Its little werd when we think about when we use fact and when we use feeling. I think its what makes us ho we are.

I agree about it makes us who we are, it really does. It defines our everyday choices, as well as our more complecated decisions.

I definitely have to say that I use fact and feeling pretty much the same amount. But with fact you're more likely to get guarunteed outcomes but as with feeling your more likely to get scummed over. All depends on what you're using them to act on.

and so the two would always be the same.

Hmm.
I would say that it depends on the situation. There are a lot of things where the best way to assess the situation is by facts. But, at the same time, sometimes feelings can be strong enough to overpower logic.

What's more important? Facts.
What's more influential? Feelings.
